Bogucice is one of the districts of Katowice, forming part of the city center complex. It is worth knowing that Katowice is divided into 22 auxiliary units, forming five sets of districts. Bogucice is one of the northern border districts with a population exceeding 14.5 thousand people (according to data from 2015). It includes housing estates, mainly blocks from the ’70s and’ 80s. Here you will also find buildings from the 19th century. Part of the Bogucice district, operating under the name Drajok, is the place where the old buildings of Katowice have survived. In Bogucice there is a new complex of buildings of the Silesian Museum, erected on the premises of the closed Katowice Coal Mine.
