Gdansk is located in the northern part of Poland on the Baltic Sea. It is one of three cities next to Sopot and Gdynia, which are part of the Tri-City agglomeration, commonly known as the Tricity. Gdansk has a population of over 466,000 inhabitants which puts it in sixth place in terms of population in Poland. The area of the city is approximately 262 square kilometers. Gdansk is the headquarter of the authorities of the Pomeranian province.
